Chasing Classic Cars Comes to Lamborghini Houston

On Wednesday, May 15^th, Wayne Carini arrived with our freshly restored 1973 Ferrari Daytona Spyder to film the final segments of his Chasing Classic Cars episode on our car.  First off, let me just say Wayne is an incredibly nice guy, extremely knowledgeable, and just loves cars as much (or more!) as we do.  Todd, Kelly, and the rest of our staff were all excited to see this car unloaded.  Wayne took our original Daytona Spyder which had previously been repainted in Rosso Corsa Red and refinished it to its original color of Verde Pino (believe to be 1 of just 2 built in that color).  The interior was completely refinished in new, imported leather hides in a tobacco (I describe it as tan with a sun tan) with black Daytona seat straps and a new mouse-hair dash.  The finest details were addressed down to exactly which knock-off wheel hubs it should have for that year, its tool kit components, engine compartment decals, and even exactly where the horns are mounted.  This car is absolutely stunning.  In fact, part of this car's journey, as you'll see in the show, included a highly scrutinizing concours judging; however, you'll have to see the show to see how it scored!  All in all, it was a really good day!!...and of course, as soon as we know when this episode of Chasing Classic Cars will air, we'll let you know!

This original Ferrari Daytona Spyder (not a "cut car") is here at Lamborghini Houston for viewing and is available as of this writing.

Bridal Show in River Oaks

IndiGO Auto Group was invited to display our cars at an exclusive Bridal Show in the River Oaks Shopping Center on Sunday, May 5^th.  We brought out a black Lamborghini Aventador and a white Gallardo LP560-4 from our Lamborghini Houston store and a red Porsche Cayman, yellow Boxster S, dark blue 911 Carrera 4 Cab, and white Cayenne S from our Porsche of North Houston store.  We blocked off the street with these cars and enjoyed the party with the DJ while sampling some excellent wedding cake and champagne.

Houston Coffee & Cars, May 2013

Saturday, May 4th was another perfect day for Houston’s Coffee and Cars at Vintage Park (near 249 and Louetta).  It's estimated that over 1,400 cars attend each month making it the largest gathering of its kind in the country.  Word is, some travel from other states and even from Mexico just to experience it.  The beauty is in its simplicity.  No entry fee.  No classifications or criteria to meet.  No judging.  No awards.  Just everyone enjoying the diverse collection of cars that’s different every time.  This time we brought out our very rare 1997 Porsche Turbo S in Paint to Sample Ferrari Swaters Blue and the new Porsche Cayman S in Guards Red from our Porsche of North Houston store while our Lamborghini Houston guys brought out a Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 in Blue Cepheus, a Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Spyder Performante in Bianco Monocerus, a Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale in Rosso Mars, a Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster in Rosso Andromeda, and a Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 in Nero Aldebaran.  We want to thank all the participants, spectators, and law enforcement that make these events possible!

Porsche Cayman Launch Event

Car aficionados raced north to celebrate the launch of the all-new 2014 Porsche Cayman at Porsche of North Houston on Thursday evening, May 2nd, 2013.  From the moment they arrived, more than 200 guests experienced the signature luxury elements of the Porsche brand including a lavish array of tasty hors d’oeuvres and wine provided by Rosemary’s Catering and Bandol Wines.  After the anticipated unveiling by Dealer Principal Todd Blue and General Manager Kelly Wolf, attendees were able to witness the updated styling, lush interior/exterior and performance of the Cayman.  Guests mingled in the elegantly decorated service area with colorful Caymans while enjoying the crooning of the David Caceres Jazz Band.  Also in the service area was a table dedicated to the MyPorsche App.  Guests who downloaded the MyPorsche App on their smartphone during the event were entered to win a weekend trip in the all-new 2014 Porsche Cayman or Cayman S.  Three lucky winners were announced at the end of the evening.  Porsche of North Houston is Houston’s only Premier Porsche dealer and member of Houston-based indiGO Auto Group which includes also Lamborghini Houston and indiGO Classic Cars.

The New Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo S

Turbo S model now capable of accelerating from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds

Atlanta. The Porsche model offensive in the anniversary year of the 911 is reaching new heights. Fifty years ago, the 911 made its debut at the Frankfurt International Auto Show - and just ten years later, the first 911 Turbo prototype was at the IAA. On this 40th anniversary of the 911 Turbo, Porsche is now presenting the new generation 911 Turbo and Turbo S – the technological and dynamic performance peak of the 911 series. A new all-wheel-drive system, active rear axle steering, adaptive aerodynamics, full-LED headlights, and up to 560 hp from a flat six-cylinder engine with twin-turbochargers underscore the role of the new generation 911 Turbo as an ultra performance car, every day car, and technology flagship. Playing an equally crucial role are an entirely new chassis and lightweight design with a 3.9-inch longer wheelbase and larger 20-inch wheels. The Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) active anti-roll system, which is being offered for the first time in 911 Turbo models, increases dynamic performance even more. This system is standard equipment in the 911 Turbo S, as is Sport Chrono Package Plus with dynamic engine mounts, and Porsche Carbon Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB); all of these features are also available as options in the 911 Turbo. The result: The new 911 Turbo S shortens the lap time for the North Loop of the Nürburgring to well under 7 and a half minutes – with standard production tires.

Lamborghini Festival 2013

Lamborghini Houston proudly sponsored the second annual Lamborghini Festival which ran from Friday, April 6th through Sunday, April 8th, 2013. The weather was a perfect upper 70's with the occasional cloud floating by all weekend long. The weekend featured a large attendance for the entire event. the event started Friday evening with the Serata VIP cocktail reception and kickoff party at the CityCentre Hotel Sorella. Attendants then gathered the next morning at MSR Houston for the opportunity to run their Bulls on the track with the benefit of professional instructors. Valentino Balboni also gave personal rides around the track in our Lamborghini LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale to help raise even more money for the weekend's charity beneficiary, Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital. The silhouette Dinner followed that evening at the Bistro Alex inside Hotel Sorella with Guest of Honor, Valentino Balboni. On Sunday, The Lamborghini's gathered at Lamborghini Houston for breakfast catered by Hubbell and Hudson followed by a police escorted drive down to CityCentre. There, the cars were on public display for the Festival Exhibition throughout the day. It was a fantastic, friendly atmosphere filled with live music, great food, stunning cars, and beautiful people. The event concluded with an awards ceremony including a check presentation to Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital in the amount of $23,500!
